"Ryan, hard-fought point tonight, but do you think we could have had more?"
RS: "Absolutely. I just said to the players at the end there, to go down to ten men and to be disappointed to come away with a draw against Canvey Island, who, on paper, their team is insane. You know what the players have got in their cavalry."
"So, to be disappointed with to only getting a point, maybe I'm being critical, but I thought with the chances we created and the decisions that didn't go our way all night, I definitely think we could have had more.
"But I think we've got to be realistic and a point on the board with ten men is a great point."
"Who stuck out for you tonight?"
RS: "I think Durls was immense; he was absolutely everywhere. For a holding midfielder, he was literally everywhere and then obviously hit the bar at the end to set up the equaliser.
"He epitomises everything that I want from a team, and we're finally starting to see that now, which is good."
"The red card in the 27th minute was responded well to I thought?"
RS: "Yeah, definitely. I thought the tactics were good between us as a management team. I thought we got them quite well, but the boys just worked so hard. When you lose a man against a team like Canvey and the experience they ave, you've just got to work so hard."
"To go one-nil down and not fold like we would have done a few weeks ago, it's just so good to see."
"We can talk about the red card, it was so, so ridiculous. Never, ever was it a red card. I mean, he got the ball and he was sent off for serious foul play, so it made things hard for us, and I think if we had eleven, we probably would have won the game."
"And talking of tactics, 75 minutes on the clock, and you've really gone for it and it's paid off."
RS: "Yeah. We spoke at half time about being compact and being a 4-4-1 and staying in the game as long as we can, and then I'll always make positive changes when we go 1-0 down, so we put two number tens in there and got two centre forwards on, and it changed the game."
"I think if we had done that earlier, I'm not sure it would have worked, but we'll take credit for that as a management team, but they have to do it. They have to go and put the shift in and pick the ball up and run, which they did all of that, so all the credit has to go to the players."
