Zach had been due to sign for the R’s for the start of the season, where he has been training with the us the last few weeks, but International clearance had to be obtained meaning he missed the opening day.

Birse started his footballing career at Brentford then Norwich City but due to injury’s, he was unable to break into the first team. Zach then joined Swedish side IFK Ostersund before ending up in Australia, and now returning to England.

Zach is a 6’3” defender who can also play on the left or right side, he’s pacey, athletic, and very good with the ball at his feet.

Birse has turned down other offers to join us knowing the he can cement a starting place and get more game time, there’s no doubt, Zach has the assets to return to the top of the game once again.
