Brightlingsea Regent U13s 4:1 Rowhedge Juniors U13s

Brightlingsea Regent U13s played their last game of the regular this evening, the sun was shining and temperature around 25 degrees, the pitch looking in immaculate condition, the boys knew only victory would give us the points required to take the title into a play off match. the occasion looked to have got to the boys a little bit as they looked nervous, which is understandable in the circumstances. The games first goal came from a goal mouth scramble which was expertly put away by Luca Sayer, the goal was probably against the run of play and things got even better with Giorgio Phillips putting in a brilliant ball which Rafe Chapman smashed home at the far post, a really good goal, this should have really settled the boys down, but were struggling for a foothold in midfield and going long to often. Rowhedge pulled a goal back after a cracking shot from outside the box which sailed over Oscar Finbow and in to the back of the net. Our defensive line of Billy Wiggins, Zac Levett, Alfie Behn and the impressive Jacob Castle were dealing with most things Rowhedge threw at us, the boys comfortably made it to half time leading 2:1

HT 2:1

The second half started with Regent making a couple of substitutions, Lindon Berisha and Yusef Aslan both coming on. Regent were far better in the second half, moving the ball quicker and defending far better, although saying that Oscar pulled off a brilliant save to deny Rowhedge an equaliser. As the half wore on< Brightlingsea looked far better an were starting to create chances but also defending extremely well. As the game wore on the nerves in the crowd were noticeable
The third Brightlinsea .goal came from Giorgio direct from a corner which the keeper help over the line, the relief was easy to see, then we scored the forth with literally seconds on the clock. this time it was Yusef Aslan who scored from his own rebound

FT 4:1

A great win in the end but the boys like to test us thats for sure. We now head into a play off match against Lawford and possibly Eight Ash Green. one thing is for sure we will finish the normal season as joint league winners.
