Brightlingsea Regent U13s 4:0 Stanway Rovers Yellows

Brightlingsea Regent U13s continued their excellent run of form with a dominant display against Stanway Rovers Yellows. The game started with Stanway putting themselves about and closing regent down at every opportunity. Regent were playing some really nice controlled football moving the ball around a near perfect pitch. After 12 minutes we scored our first goal and what a goal it was, Oscar Finbow who kept his 8 consecutive clean sheet kicked long, which was expertly controlled by Aidan Darby, who turned and skinned the defender before pulling the ball across the box for Reuben Purkiss who finished really well. Seconds later Aidan was in again this time taking the shot again which hit the underside of the crossbar the inside of the post and some how ended up in the goalkeepers hands!! Regent were creating chance after chance but couldnt find the back of the net until the 28th Minute when Jack Beard put in a great cross for Luca Sayer to finish at the far post. In a first half when Samuel Kerr could have scored 5 himself plus Aidan, Giorgio Phillips, Reuben all having numerous chances we some how went in at half time only 2:0 up!
HT 2:0
The second half continued in the same vein with numerous chances being created, Some great driving runs from Aidan which finally saw us add to the score line, Aidan drove into the box played the ball to Lindon Berisha who turned, took a shot which deflected to Aidan who smashed the ball into the bottom corner. 3:0 Shortly after it was 4, a free kick was played into the box, Hector Harvey got a great touch on which fell for Lindon Berisha who coolly flicked it past the keeper 4:0. We had more chances from 2 free kicks with firstly Lindon putting his effort wide and then Alex Hill putting his effort into the keepers arms.
FT 4:0

Another great performance from the U13s with a number of stand out performances and on a day with lots of substitutions due to the heat. On to what promises to be a vital week in the season with games against Clacton and then Eight Ash Green.

Man of the Match - tough one to call - Samuel Kerr had another outstanding game dominating the midfield and also having at least 5 chances to score, but we felt we had to give Man of the match to Aidan Darby for an outstanding performance 1 goal, 2 assists and totally bossing the opposing defenders.
