Goals Galore for the U13s

Brightlingsea Regent U13s took on Reed Hall U13s for the second time in 3 weeks, this time at home. This was our first home game since November last year.
The game was effectively over in the first 10 minutes with Regent starting really well, straight from kick off Regent went on the attack, forcing Reed Hall to pass back to their keeper who knocked the ball out for a corner, from the resulting corner we scored our first goal with a great finish from in form Reuben Purkiss, 3 minutes later another cracking finish from Reuben made it 2 :0, only 4 minutes later and it was 3:0 this time it was Aidan Darby, who confidently slotted home. Reed Hall did well to keep the score down and were battling all over the park. Regent kept the pressure up and goals 4 and 5 followed with Aidan completing a first half hat trick with 2 classy finishes. HT 5:0

The second half started with half time substitute Rafe Chapman following up at the far post to finish off another good move for his first goal since our last home game to make it 6:0, the seventh followed shortly after from the penalty spot, Reuben Purkiss getting fouled when taking on the right back, Reuben stepped up to score only for the Ref to ask for a retake, which he confidently smashed into the top corner for his first regent hat trick. The Second half performance was much more controlled by Regent, without looking as dangerous we were in total control even with lots of substitutions, Giorgio Phillips came back on to play on the left, and it was Giorgio that scored the 8th goal which was a real corker, this being Giorgio’s first goal for the U13s, i am sure there are more to follow. The final goal of the game came from Luca Sayer who turned on the edge of the box and smashed it past the keeper confidently.
A really good performance from the U13s who totally dominated the game from start to finish. We could have scored a few more with Giorgio and Jack Beard both hitting the woodwork and numerous other chances.

Man of the Match - a number of possibilities for man of the match, Aidan Darby for a first half hat trick, Jacob Castle for another cracking performance, Samuel Kerr for yet another 9/10 performance but we gave it to Ruben Purkiss for his hat trick he got the goals flowing really early and had some great movement throughout the game.
