Fc Clacton 0:3 Brightlingsea Regent U13s

Brightlingsea Regent U13s played their first league game since lockdown 2 away to FC Clacton in a game which was third vs fourth and two teams that have always had good competitive games. Today was always going to be the same.
The first half kicked off with Regent playing up a slight hill and playing into the sun. Clacton started quickly as they always seem to and started putting Regent under pressure, the back 4 had 2 new faces Jacob Castle who was making his debut and Hector Harvey who was deputising for the injured Billy Wiggins. After 5 mins Samuel Kerr captain for the game in Alex Hills absence played a brilliant through ball in the path of Aidan Darby who Coolly rolled the ball past the keeper and into the net, a great finish to a great pass. The U13s were well on top with Luca Sayer, Jack Beard and Reuben Purkiss all involved in creating chances. In one of these Luca Sayer beat a couple of players out wide played the ball to Samuel Kerr who forced the keeper into another save, the ball bounced way only for Aidan Darby to smashed the ball into the net for his and our second 2:0. Within minutes the game was virtually over with Aidan picking the ball up from a pass from Giorgio Phillips drove into the box and smashed a shot into the far top corner an absolute screamer. 3:0. The rest of the half played out with us well on top but unable to add to the score line. Just seconds before half time Oscar Finbow made a outstanding one handed save to keep the lead intact, a great bit of keeping after been pretty quiet for most of the half. HT 3:0

The second half started with Regent making 5 substitutes changing both full backs 2 midfielders and a striker. The changes took a while to gel but even so we didn’t concede any real clear cut chances, while at the other end we should have added to our score with plenty of chances coming and going. FT 3:0

Overall an excellent performance by the U13s who have lost just one league game all season, we have a really good squad of boys who are improving all the time. So many players played well today, But man of the match could only go to one player for 3 super goals. Well done Aidan Darby.
