The U13s travelled to Halstead this lunch time in a B league encounter. A chilly wind made conditions a little tricky for both teams, Brightlingsea starting really well getting the ball out wide and getting some crosses in just failing to finish off the move on a number of occasions Jack Beard coming closest testing the Halstead keeper. From Halsteads point of view their number 11 was really testing Alex Hill at right back with a direct pacey style, Alex did well to deal with him with the support of Alfie Behn and Zac Levett. Regent continued to set the pace of the game with Rafe Chapman and the brilliant Sammy Kerr dominating the midfield area, Sammy was at the heart of everything in the first half. Finally the pressure told and it was yet another Assist from Giorgio Phillips who put in a great corner with Alfie Behn making a great run and heading the ball in to the bottom corner.
The game was short of real goal mouth action with Oscar Finbow not having a save to make in the whole game, Regent just failing to have that bit of quality in the final third. Some good performances across the team, notably from Zac and Alfie at the back, Billy Wiggins at left back is turning into a great little player. Man of the match went the Sammy Kerr, excellent work rate and quality passing, driving the team forward.
Final score Halstead 0:1 Brightlingsea Regent U13s
