Berisha double downs Cornard

Brightlingsea Regent U13s travelled to Great Cornard U13s for our third game of the season and first away trip. The game was played in cool windy conditions with the rain coming down throughout the first half. The team started with one change to last weeks 7:0 win with Luca Sayer coming in for Aidan Darby who dropped to the bench.
The game started fairly evenly, with Regent playing the better football. Regent burst into action with 2 goals in 5 minutes. The first goal was real quality, with Sammy Kerr Henry Tither Luca Sayer and Lindon Berisha all involved. Luca played a great ball through to Lindon who Coolly lifted the ball over the oncoming keeper. 1:0. Minutes later more great work by Luca Sayer, Henry Tither and a good finish at the near post by Lindon Berisha. 2:0. The rest of the half was dominated by Regent, Defensively the team looked really comfortable with Oscar Finbow in goal looking really accomplished, as usual Zac Levett,
Alfie Behn, Billy Wiggins and Alex Hill looking tight , and well in control. Oscar finished the half with a couple of simple saves.

Half time 2:0 to Brightlingsea Regent

The second half was a much more scrappy affair and regent still created plenty of chances with Luca Sayer, Aidan Darby and Hector Harvey all having attempts. Giorgio Phillips and Rafe Chapman putting in some quality balls into the box.
Overall a comfortable victory with some super performances around the pitch. Man of the match was Birthday boy Samuel Kerr who was nothing short of superb.

Next game is Rowhedge away next Sunday.
