Brightlingsea Regent U13s won their first game of the season with a very comfortable win against last seasons D league champions Boxted Lodgers.
The home side started strongly with Aidan Darby crashing a shot off the cross bar in the first couple of minutes. Regent were playing some really good stuff with some great attacking play mainly down the right with some really good link up play between Samuel Kerr and Giorgio Phillips. Finally Regent got the goal their play deserved when Lindon Berisha placed the ball in the bottom right corner. The next 10 minutes Carried on with Regent push Boxted back, at the drinks break Regent made 4 substitutions and this pushed Regent further on. Yusef Aslan managed to score 4 goals in a 10 minute spell with another in the middle from Samuel Kerr with assists from Henry Tither, Jack Beard and Yusef. HT 6:0
The first half performance was outstanding for the U13s, there had been signs of a performance like that for a few weeks, it was great to see some excellent football, really utilising the width.
The second half followed the same pattern, Regent well on top but just failing to the ball into the net, finally Jack Beard scored the seventh some great build up play between Billy Wiggins Luca Sayer and a top quality finish from Jack.
A great performance from back to front and the boys are showing some real potential, hopefully we will follow this up with another positive result next Sunday.
