Brightlingsea Regent U12s vs Saffron Walden Community Youth

Brightlingsea Regent U12s played in the First Round of the Essex U12s cup against Saffron Walden Community Blacks who play in the Royston Sunday league.

The game started with Saffron Walden slightly on top without creating loads of chances, a couple of half chances came and went before Regent started to play, a host of half chances game and went - mostly ending in the keepers hands. Bailey Barton started to create a couple of openings - one a terrific cross which some how managed to avoid everyone. After 14 minutes Bailey took a decent shot from outside the box which managed to squeeze through the keepers hands - 1 nil to Regent. After 22 minutes some more nice play Alex Hill took a throw Callum played the ball back to him, Alex crossed a lovely ball to Bailey Barton who in turn took a great touch and managed to slide the ball across to Lindon Berisha to tap in at the far post 2:0. Minutes later the goal of the game Dexter Bellhouse had just come on to the pitch, had the ball passed to him outside the box, got his head up and launched it in to the far top corner - a screamer!
Brightlingsea were now very comfortable with Alex Hill Zac Levett and Billy Wiggins mopping up anything that came their way. HT 3:0

The second half started as the first ended with Brightlingsea with Regent well on top, Freya Hatch created a great chance for herself after some great passing in midfield from Sammy Kerr and Dexter Bellhouse. Saffron Waldens keeper making a great save.

No further goals but a very comfortable win and progress to the next round.

Every player played their part from back to front, trying to pick a man of the match a very difficult decision.
