Brightlingsea Regent U12s 2:2 Stanway Rovers U12s Yellows

Brightlingsea Regent U12s played their first home game of the season on glorious sunny morning.
The game started fairly evenly, before bursting into life with Brightlingsea being awarded a penalty- up stepped a confident Bailey Barton who easily scored to the keepers right. Stanway hit back within minutes with a penalty of their own. Oscar Finbow in goal very nearly kept it out. 1:1
With 14 minutes on the clock Regent scored again Alex Hill put in a decent corner, Rafe Chapman reacted first to smash the ball into the back of the net. 2:1. Half chances were been created by both teams, with Regent doing most of the pressing and Stanway hitting us on the break. Half time came and went without further goals. In the second half Stanways keeper made great saves from Henry Tither and Ruben Crozier. Alex Hill hit the crossbar from a free kick but the third goal just wouldn’t come. The hard work from Samuel Kerr and Rafe Chapman started to take affect as Regent struggled to keep hold of the ball. Stanway started to pass through us easily before a goal mouth scramble resulted in the equaliser. Stanway were now looking the likely winners with Oscar Finbow making a great save to keep it at 2:2
