A clinical first half performance from a resurgent Brightlingsea Regent saw the North Essex side claim all three points at the Taydal Stadium.
Many fans had not even settled in their seats when R's midfielder Jordan Barnett scored after just sixty seconds to put the home side one nil up.
Folkestone were given little time to recover from the early goal as a rampant Brightlingsea surged forward.
Full of confidence from their recent good run of form the Regent midfield led by man of the match Harvey Hodd pressed and harried an Invicta defence that had little respite.
It was during this early onslaught that a ball loose in the box was pounced on by Aaron Condon who beat the keeper and defenders to get a touch and make it two nil.
Folkestone shocked into a response began to grow into the game but created little in the final third to trouble Bradbrook in the R's goal.
The second half saw Regent having to deal with more pressure but the centre half partnership of Cripps and Gould coped well with Invictas long ball.
The referee issued a second yellow to Regent player Harry Morgan which meant a reshuffle and a final quarter of the match down to ten men.
But despite more possession Folkestone created little and Brightlingsea secured a deserved three points.
