A first half goal from Matt Cripps was enough to secure Regent three more valuable points.

Brightlingsea Regent welcomed Ware to North Road for their latest league game and with both sides sitting 8th and 9th an important game for both teams if they wanted to keep their outside chances of a play off place available.
Webster was without George Clarke and Jake Holman who were both named but still not quite ready to return after injury, TJ Amass and Jake Turner were both unavailable also so both Jake Philips and Charlie Durling came into the squad from the under 18's team.
Regent started the game well on a blustery day which on a difficult pitch made it hard for both sides but Regent dealt with this much better and pinned the away side back in the opening stages. The away keeper doing well after a Ricky Griggs free kick was met by a Josh Gould header but the keeper palmed away from the far corner. Matt Cripps then went close when he side footed another Ricky Griggs cross just wide into the side netting. The away keeper scooped wide a unexpected bounce from another cross by Griggs. Regent took a deserved lead after 11 minutes with Matt Cripps meeting a Josh Gould throw to side foot volley the ball home from 6 yards for 1-0. Regent continued to dominate the game but gradually the away side settled slightly and won their first and only corner of the half when they broke quickly with Matt Cripps able to clear for a corner which was cleared with a powerful header. Amir Berkane seemed to be the target of several fouls and on 42 minutes the away side were reduced to 10 men with a cynical foul again on Amir resulted in a second yellow card for the number 11. With the game becoming more feisty Regent were involving themselves with Josh Gould being booked although Matt Cripps was the offender pushing a Ware player. HT 1-0
The second half began the same way as the first with Regent creating chances to increase their lead. Ben Newson finding himself in the box but he scuffed his effort which the keeper saved comfortably. Webster made his first change on 56 minutes with Jordan Heath replacing Jake Gordon. The away keeper again doing well to keep the scores as they were saving a stunning strike from 25 yards pushing the Ben Newson shot onto the post. Charlie Durling replaced Warren Joseph on 65 minutes for Regent's second change. The away side had a very good 15 minute spell and certainly their best in the match and pushed Regent back but in that time their best chance was a ball through which Andrew Plummer raced out to smother and with the help of Jake Gould was able to clear to safety. The away side then had a shot which was wide of the near post from inside the box with the officials awarding a corner wrongly. Ben Newson was again denied when through on goal with the keeper again doing well to delay him and deny a goal. Charlie Durling showed some nice touches as he played a ball to Ollie Canfer but his shot was well wide. Jake Phillips replaced Phil Kelly on 86 minutes. The away side were reduced to 9 men on 90 minutes when another kick out on Amir Berkane resulted in a straight red card as the game finished with no further chances. FT 1-0
A deserved three points for Regent who without the play of the away keeper would have won this game more comfortably against an away side who wanted to collect something from North Road so unable to take points they decided to take the food prepared for them along with the bowls and cutlery.
