El tel geezer buzzing as regent buzzing at home.......

On the back of 3 wins in a row we entertained Downham today who had the unenviable 2 hour journey which we have already endured.

With a full strength side except for centre half come goal machine Jake Holman who was off on a stag do and Morley away this gave opportunities for others to impress.

A flat warm up and there were concerns pre game that we would end up being complacent and throwing the game away.

First 10 minutes to be honest the game was quite scrappy, neither team got control of the game and we didn't really get into our stride moving the ball as we were expecting.
We got an early lead however when a brilliantly slotted ball down the side of there centre half got Rymer turned and into the 18 yard box, he shot across the keeper but wide, but hungry hippo Jamie Clark was following in and got to the ball before it went across the goal for a tap in from 5 yards and 1-0 us.

1 became 2 almost immediately when from a free kick the ball dropped from a mile out of the air and all in one motion Philbo turner there defender inside out on a sixpence and half volleyed with his lefty benson into the bottom right corner. (beardos tip for goal of the season).

We got going after this and in patches kept the ball brightly moving the ball quickly and using our pace out wide to good effect. This was rewarded nearly again, this time when Ricky thundered a superb ball into the box only for Blake to narrowly miss connecting with it.
We were given our third shortly after though when Warren overlapped down the right and squared back to Ricky who found himself in some space and turned in on his left from 20 yards and struck towards the goal, there keeper got a hand to it and somehow turned it into his own net.

As we continued to play more chances came and the game was fairly open although they rarely troubled us to be honest.
We made it 4 when a good ball from Warren out wide caused pinball wizard in the box and a Ricky shot deflected off there player onto the post and as they failed to clear, Philbo latched onto it and tapped into an open goal.

So 4-0 and we were cruising, they did get a goal though as a deflected Blake header fell to there striker who unleashed from 25 yards and flew into the bottom corner.

So 4-1 at half time and we had played quite well but the massive positive was how clinical we had been in front of goal.

Second half was much the same, we played some good football in patches.
We made it 5 when Wallis Iniesta took the ball on the volley and smashed a 60 yard ball through there back 4 for Rymer to run onto and volley first time over there outward rushing keeper.

To be honest the game died a death after this as we saw the game out as did Downham. The last highlight of the game was to come from Philbo though as in the dying minutes, he showed true class, picking up the ball in his own half and dancing past 2 before going through the gears and smashing there left back for pace over 20 yards and getting past him cooly slotted into the bottom left corner from a difficult angle, great goal and well deserved hat trick.

So the game finished 6-1 and for the first time this season we had been truly clinical in front of goal. Some outstanding performances as our front 4 look to have finally clicked into gear together, Rymer, Philbo, Griggsy and Clarky all in top form, working well, interchanging and scoring goals, long may that continue.

Highlights of the day included powerful Alan and his laces, Alan and that taxi department, Jake asking someone to tie his boots up for him, Tash in her new outfit straight off TOWIE, Toms funny mosutache which is getting better by the day,Philbos hat trick in front of mumbo philbo (still no oranges though), Hilly being a naughty boy (you know what you did) ooh and all things ALAN.

Lets all take this into a big 3 games coming up in the shape of Whitton, Thetford and Godmanchester BOOM
