FA Vase time again at North Road!

Brightlingsea Regent welcome Bodmin Town this weekend in the FA Vase 4th round (last32). It's the biggest game in the clubs history and is the furthest that Regent have ever been in the Vase or even Brightlingsea United before them. It's been a crazy day all in with First Team Manager Webster in demand from various journalists and Chairman Terry Doherty going global as his Isle Of Wight trip to collect our new stand has caught everybody's imagination. With lots of games already falling foul to the weather we are even more hopeful of a bumper crowd as the teams play for a place in the last 16 and three games from Wembley. Webster has a full squad to choose from with a late fitness test needed for Kevin Hughes. Bodmin Town reached the last 16 last season which is the furthest in their history before losing 1-0 to Gornal Athletic. In the previous round they needed extra time before seeing off Kidlington Town 3-2. The Vase run for Regent has already seen them play in five rounds and they needed a replay in the last round to get through against Colney Heath. Fifteen goals have been scored in the run so far with Terry Rymer leading the way with four goals, Kevin Coyle has three goals, Jake Holman and Scott Yearling both with two and Jake Turner,Phil Kelly, Jamie Clark and Kevin Hughes all with one each. The run has seen us concede four goals and I'm sure as with all Regent games this season this should be a cracker. Get along to North Road, the game kicks off at 3pm.
The Reserves make the long trip to Gt Yarmouth in their latest League game and will be looking to back up last weeks 5-2 victory against Ipswich Wanderers, this game also kicks off at 3pm.
Come and support the Regent this weekend.
