Regent skipper Matt Cripps agrees new one year contract extension.

Brightlingsea Regent captain Matt Cripps will extend his stay at the R’s for a sixth season after signing a new one year contract with the club.

26 year old Crippo will lead the side once again as we enter our third season at step 3.

“It’s vital for the club to keep our core so securing Crippo is hugely important to our plans and I personally feel he’s proven he’s comfortable at this level and for me last season really developed and matured as a skipper.

Slightly more responsibility was added to him off the pitch and I felt that came through on the pitch.

Part of Crippo’s development is leading the team and being our voice on the pitch. He has always led by example but I felt last season he really led with his communication and was notably more vocal and I felt it was a massive addition to us as a team and was demonstrated in our goals against.

Crippo is always a guaranteed consistent performer and had another excellent season last year and getting him secured is huge for the club and I’m really pleased we’ve got it done early” said R’s boss Tom Rothery.

We’re delighted you have signed on Matt!
