Reuben Mudd became the second signing in a day for Brightlingsea Regent!

Reuben Mudd became the second signing in a day for Brightlingsea Regent and joins on work experience from Colchester United.

Reuben who is a striker has this season already been on loan at Bostik North side Heybridge Swifts and Conference South side East Thurrock.

“We need more depth in the squad and Reuben adds that, he can play as a striker or a winger and has good pedigree.

His time at the other senior clubs this season will hopefully help this transition and signs on the same work experience deal as George Keys who was excellent last season for us winning young player of the year after signing at the same time as Reuben has.

Reuben is direct and has a good reputation for scoring goals.”

We welcome Reuben to the club and thanks to Liam Bailey and Colchester United for helping with this signing said Regent boss Tom Rothery.

Sadly, an injury update from Saturday regarding Morisi Gelashvilli is not so positive with the Georgian powerhouse expected to miss up to eight weeks after breaking a bone in his foot in Saturday’s 2-2 draw at Tonbridge Angels.

“Firstly, I’m disappointed for Mo, he has been excellent for us since signing in November and is a popular lad in the changing room.

His attitude is excellent and he’s really added something on the pitch for us so will be a big loss whilst he is out but we will support Mo and get him back as soon as we can and look forward to seeing him and his Dad Boris at games very soon” said R’s boss Rothery.
