Both teams started with a desire to score first unfortunately Brightlingsea didn’t match the oppositions effort leading to Leigh taking the lead after 15 minutes by letting in a soft goal from a corner.

This sparked Brightlingsea to increase there effort after several attempts with 23 minutes gone Hanna Boyling with assistance from Linsey Cowell bought Brightlingsea level.

The rest of the first half passed with both sides producing chances, one such chance required Brightlingsea’s keeper to pull off a great save when she found herself one on one with a Leigh Ramblers winger the first half finished 1-1 .

Brightlingsea started the second half brightly both teams started to tire on 53 minutes Emma Saville was brought on to replace Jessica Harrad 10 minutes later this provided the break Brightlingsea were looking for Emma provided Hannah with an opportunity to take the lead Hannah duly dispatched it. 2-1.

Another substitute was made when Katie Bruce was brought on to replace Lindsey Cowell, Hannah Boyling came off with 6 to go for Chloe khan who within the first few mins being on the pitch came close to sealing the game off but it wasn’t to be and went just wide, Brightlingsea continued to press home there advantage until the final whistle giving Brightlingsea a deserved win taking us into the quarter final.
