Brightlingsea Regent have completed the loan signings of two players from Southend United

Brightlingsea Regent have completed the signing of Eren Kinali and Miles Mitchell-Nelson on a 1-month loan deal.

Kinali is a midfielder who made his breakthrough into the first team at Blues during the 2019/20 season, making his debut off the bench away to Burton Albion.

The hard-working flanker, who initially joined as a forward before moving out wide, joined the club in 2015 from non-league Intersports ahead of his two-year scholarship with Blues.

He had impressed in a trial match by scoring a hat-trick against his future employers.

He constantly pressurises defenders with his insatiable hunger for the ball and is capable of either scoring or setting up goals.

During 2018/19 Kinali was sent on loan to Southern League Premier Central club Royston Town, where he netted four times in 12 appearances.

In the curtailed 19/20 season, Kinali made six appearances for Blues before impressing in pre-season, scoring twice in behind-closed-doors games before the 20/21 campaign.

Mitchell-Nelson is a defender who’s meteoric rise towards professional football saw him travel to Oldham Athletic in April 2018 as cover for the first team squad.

That came just 12 months after the defender signed a two-year scholarship for the club from non-league.

A whirlwind year began when Mitchell-Nelson impressed during a successful trial period with Blues U18s, featuring in two matches at the end of the 2016/17 campaign.

In the following season he took time to adapt to the rigours of full-time football, but he learnt his lessons quickly after being dismissed against Luton Town to become one of the youth team’s stand-out performers.

Mitchell-Nelson became a regular for the U23 side and having been handed a development contract in the summer of 2019, he linked up with Isthmian League South Central club Harlow Town on a work experience loan.

In February 2020 he made his debut as a sub in the 2-1 win over Lincoln City and featured six times in total at the end of 19/20 season.

Assistant manager Steve Pitt had this to say about the pair “We are delighted to secure both players in the key areas that we were looking to address & strengthen particularly given their respective pedigrees.”

“A key factor in the deal was that Eren & Miles both wanted to join us and gain valuable game time.”

“We extend our sincere thanks to Southend United and particularly Ricky Duncan for their assistance in this matter.”

Brightlingsea Regent would like to thank Ricky Duncan and Lis Orford at Southend United for allowing us to sign Eren & Miles and allowing a smooth process.

Welcome to Regent Eren and Miles!
