Hampy Arrives!

Brightlingsea Regent have signed Adam Hampson from neighbours FC Clacton.

Adam arrives after a successful season for FC Clacton where he netted 22 times for Tom Austin’s side, Adam has also had spells with Wivenhoe, Stanway Rovers, Felixstowe & Walton and Braintree Town Reserves in his senior football career to date.

“Hampy is an excellent player, technically really sound and his intensity, pace, quality and general energy will be a great addition in the final third for us.”

“He’s a goal scorer and somebody that I think will be superb for us and will link in well with players like Billy Hunt.”

“Pip and I spoke about it and we both felt he was somebody that could make the step up and we both wondered why he hadn’t before if honest”

“we’ve both either played against him or lined up teams against him and he’s always a handful with his movement and general play and even back in the day when we first came into the Thurlow Nunn League he was a real standout player for Braintree, somebody you would always highlight as a threat for the opposition”

“we actually tried to sign him when we had the one season in the Thurlow Premier Division but couldn’t quite get it done.”

“It wasn’t a conversation I was looking forward to speaking to Tom to make him aware that I wanted to approach Hampy but he has been excellent about it and I really appreciate that and thank Tom and FC Clacton for their help.”

“I think we’ve signed an exciting player who will certainly add something to the team and I’m looking forward to working with him and seeing what he brings”

“Hampy is looking forward to the challenge too and another player that was really keen to sign for the club which is excellent” said Regent Boss Tom Rothery.

Welcome to the R’s Adam!
