VASE TEAMS FIGHT ON

All four Thurlow Nunn League teams playing in the FA Vase Third Round Proper on Saturday will feature in Monday’s Fourth Round Draw.

Norwich United had a fairly straightforward 3-0 victory at home to Erith Town while the other three sides were all locked at 2-2 after 90 minutes in their ties.

Hadleigh United finally came out on top 3-2 at Millfield with a deflected winner two minutes from the end of extra time against Welwyn Garden City while Brantham Athletic won by the same scoreline at Haringey Borough.

Brightlingsea Regent could not emulate the two Suffolk sides with an extra time winner and must travel to Colney Heath for a Tuesday evening replay.

CHELL TROPHY QUARTER FINAL DRAW

The draw for the quarter finals of the Chell Trophy has been made:-

Saffron Walden Town Res v. North Group Runners-up
North Group Winners v. East Group Runners-up
Witham Town Res v. Halstead Town Res
East Group Winners v. Brightlingsea Regent Res or Brantham Athletic Res

Matches will be scheduled to dates in January.

Semi final matches are planned for February with the Final to be on a neutral ground midweek in late March or early April.

BRANTHAM ATHLETIC MAKE IT FIVE APPLICATIONS FOR STEP 4

Brantham Athletic have joined Haverhill Rovers, Gorleston, Godmanchester Rovers and Brightlingsea Regent in applying to the FA for promotion to Step 4 football next season. The deadline for applications has now passed.

PLAYER REGISTRATIONS

As the end of November there were 2020 players registered in the Thurlow Nunn League Senior Divisions and 1,386 registered in the Youth League.

PRESENTATION EVENING ROOM BOOKINGS

Any requests for room bookings, etc. for the 2014 League Presentation Evening should be made to Ray Bayles and not John Day.
