Ryan Salter’s Brightlingsea Regent return to pre-season action tonight, as make the trip up the A120 to Harwich & Parkeston FC, in pre-season fixture number five.

Kickoff is at 7:45, with the game taking place at the R Gwinnell & Sons Royal Oak (CO12 4AA), and at the time of writing, ticket prices aren't confirmed. However, it is likely to be around £10 for adults.

Harwich & Parkeston confirmed via social media that their Social Club will be open for the fixture, alongside food and drink being available from their Tea Hut!

Regent will be looking to go one better from the weekend's result against our local rivals tonight, following our 1-1 draw against Barking, with a goal from new signing Ben Sargent in the 10th minute. We continued our unbeaten pre-season record to four games, which has seen us draw to National League South outfit Braintree Town, and reign victorious over AFC Pegasus and Hutton FC.

For those Regent supporters making the trip to the coast of the Tendring District, it is an opportunity to see the new signings in action for the first time, since making the switch from trialist to contracted player!

A look at the opposition:

Established in 1875, Harwich & Parkeston currently compete in the Essex Senior League, level nine of the English football pyramid, and step five of the non-league system.

The club originally played its home matches at Barrack Field before relocating to the Phoenix Ground on the seafront. In 1898, it made a permanent move to the Royal Oak, its current home, which takes its name from the neighbouring public house. Quite interestingly, it was additionally used as an army base during WW2.

They've moreover made the First official round of the FA Cup on six separate occasions, however, are yet to go beyond the opening round. Since forming, Harwich & Parkeston have spent a majority of their time floating around the Eastern regional divisions of non-league.

Currently, The Shrimpers are managed by the partnership of Sean Tynan and Matt Carmichael and have enjoyed success in pre-season, comfortably beating Clacton Town and Hadleigh United, however suffered defeat to Brantham Athletic in the Norman Mann trophy on penalties, as they look to improve on a thirteenth place finish.
