Regent complete the signing of highly rated Sam!

Brightlingsea Regent are pleased to announce the signing of Sam Mvemba from Welling United.

The left back started at Romford where he made 40 appearances for Boro, helping them climb to safety in 2017/18, before joining Aveley where he went on to make 76 appearances over the next two seasons, including an integral role that saw the Millers reach the Quarter-Finals of the FA Trophy.

In the summer of 2020/21, Sam moved up a level joining Bishop’s Stortford making 13 appearances before the season was curtailed. Including a run that saw The Blues reach the FA Cup 1st Round proper. Fortunately he was able to dual register with National League South side Welling United to continue his season.

At the beginning of this season, Mvemba made his move permanent with the Wings, but a long term injury in pre-season has seen Sam out of action ever since.

The 21 year old has since been training with various clubs, including Regent over the last couple of weeks and he has shown that he is fit, hungry and ready to go for the final run-in! Making this another very exciting capture by Brett Munyard.

Brett had this to add about his next signing “I’m really, really pleased Sam has decided to join Regent!”

“He is a player who has so much potential and when the opportunity come along to sign him we had to act”

“He has had a bad injury and it’s been a set back for him, but he is back to full fitness and now it’s time for him to get playing!”

“Sam fits in perfectly for what we are trying to do here in terms of signing players, not only for today, but also the future!”

“I think he is the 5th Under-23 we have signed recently, so It’s hugely exciting for everyone!!”

“We have to manage it correctly as he has been out for a long time, but once he is back to his best I’m sure everyone will see what a fantastic player we have!!”

Welcome to the R’s Sam!

There has been a couple of departures of note to update you with, Theo Osinfolarin has decided to move on for game time, where he has joined Harlow Town and Kane Gilbert has joined Halstead on loan to get minutes.

We wish Theo all the best for the future and we look forward to Welcoming Kane back soon.
