Michael Brothers arrives at the Taydal Stadium

Brightlingsea Regent have signed Michael Brothers from Maldon & Tiptree FC.

The forward who had a short spell at Regent in their first season in the then Ryman League, where he scored 4 goals in 11 appearances.

Michael arrives back at the Taydal Stadium after a spell at Bostik North side Maldon & Tiptree, previous to this Brothers had been joint Manager at Thurlow Premier side Brantham Athletic where alongside Matt Carmichael he had a very successful time winning the Thurlow Nunn League Cup and finishing fifth place in the league.

“Bruvs is a player I know really well having worked with him at Brightlingsea and Needham Market, he’s a great lad and having already played at the club understands the club and how it works and a lot of the lads already know him as does our Assistant Pip so I think it’s a perfect fit as we go into the last third of the season.

I think it’s a really exciting signing for the supporters too; Bruvs has a huge personality and plays with his heart on his sleeve and has a real charisma on and off the pitch which I feel can really add something to us in the changing room and on the pitch.

He can play in a number of positions whether it be the 7, 9, 10 or 11 and similar to the signing of Aaron Condon he adds goals to the team and experience which sometimes we still lack as we are still a reasonably young squad” said Regent Boss Tom Rothery who was clearly excited with the new arrival.

Most supporters will remember Bruvs celebration against Great Wakering Rovers on his last debut for the club where took in some liquid refreshment from the Ultras behind the goal making him a fan favourite and their sponsored player!

Welcome back to the club Michael and our thanks to Maldon & Tiptree with their handling of this transfer.

Transfer subject to paperwork clearance by the league
