Brightlingsea Regent are delighted to confirm that our ladies' team will be competing in the 2026/2027 edition of the Women's FA Cup. Regent will compete alongside 534 clubs that have been accepted.
With clubs from across England entering at various stages, entry into the FA Cup provides an opportunity for our ladies to test themselves against a diverse range of oppositions, whilst simultaneously partaking in one of the most celebrated cup competitions in English football.
Being amongst the participating clubs this year offers players, staff and supporters the prospect of an exhilarating Women's FA cup journey, as well as the chance for our ladies' side to show themselves on the big stage and continue to grow the women's game within the local community and across England
The competition was founded in 1970, with the inaugural tournament being played during the 1970–71 season under the name of the Women's Football Association Mitre Challenge Trophy, before the FA took over in 1993. Since 2015, the final has been played at Wembley, with the most recent winners being the Manchester City ladies, who beat Brighton & Hove Albion 4-0.
We look forward to the opening qualifying games to take place, and hope Brightlingsea Regent enjoy a successful run in the competition.
