Billy Jones has joined Brightlingsea Regent as Manager Tom Rothery swoops to add additions to his R’s squad.

Billy (25) is probably best known for his spell with Harlow Town scoring on his debut against Brightlingsea Regent whilst both sides were in the North Division.

Billy has also had spells at Grays, Walthamstow and Cheshunt, at the latter scoring 17 goals and staring in goal in a game against Brightlingsea Regent when the Cheshunt keeper was injured during the game.

Tom was delighted with his capture of Billy

“Goalkeeper Coach John made me aware that there might be a possibility with Billy having worked with him at Harlow and once we’d spoken it became quite an easy signing to finalise.

Billy is looking to settle with a club and rediscover the form he had at Cheshunt and Harlow and I think history shows that as a club we help players in these instances to settle and enjoy their football with us.

Billy is a top player who will really add some depth to the squad and at 25 also adds a bit of experience, the fact he can play in many attacking midfield positions and as a striker also adds versatility to our small squad.

We welcome Billy to the R’s and thanks to Ryan Maxwell at Walthamstow for helping this signing to go through”
