AFC Pegasus (H) Match Preview

AFC Pegasus (H) Match Preview

William Mallard-Smith7 Jul - 15:00

A look ahead towards tonight's pre-season friendly.

Brightlingsea Regent return to North Road this evening for some pre-season action against fellow North Essex-based side AFC Pegasus.

Regent go into tonight’s fixture off the back of a convincing win over Essex Senior League side Hutton FC, ultimately ending in a two-nil victory, thanks to two second-half goals from Gianni Ashley and Dan Rowe, alongside valuable minutes for the squad.

Tonight marks the first opportunity for supporters to see the new signings at North Road and cheer on Ryan Salter’s lads, as they look to secure another successful result in pre-season, and gain sharpness for the beginning of the Isthmian League North campaign in August.

Entry for the game is as follows:

Adults: £7

Concession: £5

12-18 Years Old: £3

Under 12’s £1

We look forward to welcoming supporters to North Road this evening and we greatly appreciate your continued support going into the upcoming campaign.

A look at the opposition:

AFC Pegasus are based in Stanway (a fellow CO postcode side), and are members of the Eastern Counties League, who were previously known as Stanway Pegasus, but made the switch to the current name last month, as they believe it reflected the community in a better manner.

Formed in 2018, they originally entered the Suffolk & Essex Borders League Division Two following formation, however, after securing promotion from the Suffolk & Essex Borders League top division in 2022, they gained entry into the Eastern Counties League Division One South, after going the full campaign unbeaten.

Currently ground sharing with Coggeshall Town, AFC Pegasus have since made the switch to the North section of the Thurlow Nunn League’s regionalised divisions, which occupies the tenth tier of the English football league pyramid and the sixth tier of the non-league system.
