Brightlingsea Regent finally broke their 4 year duck of first round exits with a 3-0 victory over Thurlow Nunn Premier’s Mildenhall Town
Regent started extremely strong and went ahead after just 14 minutes, Connor Barnby with a driving run and shot on the edge of the box was aided by a deflection to take the ball past Josh Pope.
The R’s doubled their lead on the 36th minute with a bullet header from a corner.
Regent went on a missed a host of chances before the interval with Sammy Jeremiah missing a one on one, and Connor Barnby forced a good save from a tight angle.
Charlie Durling added a 3rd on the 48th minute, he was on hand to poke home after Ollie Sotoyinbo forced a save from a corner.
The second half fizzled despite the visitors throwing players forward, a couple of comfortable saves were forced for Charlie Turner, but not much to test the R’s resilience.
