Regent started the brightest and forced two good chances inside the first 20 minutes, first Ken Feyi broke the visitors line but was unable to convert through a heavy touch and Marcus Gouldbourne forced a good save from Ben Goode.
On the 21st minute mark, the visitors broke the deadlock against the run of play, a fantastic driving run from Alphanso Kennedy centred his cross which was met by a ferocious volley at the back post by Ibrahim Meite which flashed into the roof of the net.
The visitors doubled their lead on the stroke of half-time when Alphanso Kennedy was given time to turn and shoot on the edge of the box, this was well blocked, but the rebound fell kindly to Sam Hatton who fired into the bottom corner of the net.
On the hour mark, Ibrahim Meite burst through and unleashed a great strike at goal, but R’s stopper Charlie Turner made and excellent save to deny the striker his brace.
The visitors made it three on the 82nd minute when some great build up play found Bilal Sayoud to steer his effort into the far corner. It soon went from bad to worse for the R’s as they were reduced to 10 men through an off the ball incident involving keeper Charlie Turner.
Regent did manage a consolation in the final minute of the match, Eren Kinali let go a rocket from distance that flashed past everyone into the roof of the net.
