We entertained Dagenham and redbridge evening who sent a strong first team squad including hogan, foster, arbor, geohaghon, sands, mcrory, Elito, okus, spurge, ogogo, green, reed, Evans and cunnington.

With a good squad of 16 and not having Conceeded a goal in the senior cup so far we were hoping for a big cup upset.

We started nervously and to be fair Dagenham showed there class early on moving the ball quickly with good movement.
We caught them on the break in the first 10 minutes however when Morley played in griggs who outpaced there full back and whipped in the ball for clarky to smash straight at the keeper.

The game moved end to end although dagenham had the main possession we defended resolutely and rarely gave them a sight of goal, and continued breaking well with Philbo, Rymer nd Griggs.

We were undone on 23 minutes however when there striker drifted by centre half Hughes who was clumsy in the challenge and lef the ref no choice but to point to the spot and the penalty was duly dispatched.

We carried on playing however, creating some more good chances with just a poor final ball letting us down.

Second half we gave another good account of ourselves, defending well, keeper Sam Mansfield made 2 brilliant saves to keep us in It and at the other end we pressed hard putting good balls in the box but rarely called on there keeper to make a save.
The game finished 1-0 and our set pieces, final ball and decision making had not been quite as good as our work rate, endeavour and spirit today.

I think all that watched would agree we gave a Great account of ourselves against a quality side and at times were unlucky not to at least draw level.

Hopefully we can gain some consistency in these performances which surely would see US push on in the league.

A good night for the club as everyone played there part, not least the players who gave a superb account of themselves......
