Another win in the cup

We travelled this evening away to hull bridge as we looked to continue our good Essex senior cup form and make it 2 wins back to back for the first time in a while.
After a positive warm up and everyone clearly buzzing from Saturday we started brightly and got on top early doors, wallis doing especially well in the middle in the makelele role like a vileda mop.
We created some good early chances with some quality out wide from Ricky and Philip both getting balls in the box but not quite finding our men.
Rymer was then played in one on one but the keeper done well as he tried to round him, as the pressure mounted Philip then went on a superb run going pat 2 and unleashing a 25 yard thunder bolt which smashed back off the stantion.

We kept pushing and to be honest other than a few dead balls and Sam having to work his box well I dont remember them having too many chances.

We came in 0-0 at half time and had played well but the final ball or finish just hadn't come.

Second half was much the same as we continued to play some great stuff, Ricky at the heart of most things, on one occasion going by 2 and pulling the ball back for Sam holman only to get blocked as he dwelled on the ball, moments later another cross to Rymer at the back post as his shot was blocked and went wide.

Finally in the 75 th minute some good work out wide from Harry, and Philip played a reverse pass into Rymer who turned and in one motion shot with his lefty benson into the bottom corner from the ede of the box (thank god for that).
1-0 and to be fair it had been coming.

They put pressure on us in the last 10 minutes it Kev and make Holman ably assisted by lake and Harry were awesome and we kept our first clean sheet in a while.
To be fair we cld have made it more at the end as Clarke missed a sitter and Ricky went close.

So 1-0 and the next round. But most pleasing of all was a clean sheet, a Rymer goal and another superb performance with everyone buzzing.

Highlights of the evening went to the referee this week who was quality in his lee Evans like east London mannerisms, these included cant get the angle fella,m go stand there like a naughty boy and many others.
Next game away v team bury let's make it 3 on the spin.

Special mention should go to the travelling fans as we packed the rafters it's at least 20 Loyal b sea members there, ur all good boys!!
