Another 2 and half hour journey each way today.............

We travelled away today to Downham who is another one of our 22 hour trips down the road and into deepest darkest Norfolk Broads territory.

We arrived after Webbos famous sense of direction took us to a Lynny rump road in a completely different town hahaha.

After a decent warm up we started brightly feeling it was important to take off where we left off on Wednesday night. We created some good early chances and didnt let them settle, Morley and Salter setting about them in centre mid and Beardo and Philbo doing well out wide and the full backs schofield and gould doing superbly on the overlap.

Rymer nearly created himself an early chance but his final touch let him down but didnt take long for him to have an impact as Morley got the ball and helped it into the channel as rymer tore up the full back for pace getting in behind and cooly slotting home to make it 1-0 on 25 minutes.

1 very nearly came 2 when Philbo did superbaly well to go past 3 in the midfield and break past the back 4 into 1 on 1, he rounded the keeper on the edge of the box only to smash against the bar (contender for miss of the season, maybe bit harsh) but great run.

We cotinued to press and Hughes missed 2 headers from corners and salter shot just wide.

On 35 minutes good work from Beardo as he crossed to the far post, Rymer chased the ball down, getting his head up smashed a ball to die for into the box as Clarky strode onto it and smahed it in on the halfr volley 2-0.

So we came in at half time 2-0 having been much the better side with Griggsy little to do.

Second half we swapped Griggsy with Beeson and to be honest the whole of the second half was a completely different game.
Downham came out of the blocks very quickly and caught us comepletely by surprise as we spent the entire half camped in our own 18 yard box as they came at us looking to get back into the game. They first grabbed an equaliser on 65 minutes after a good slot and finish.

We did rally however and a lesson in how to defend your 18 yard box from centre halfves hughes and Joseph steered us to the final whistle alebit we were hanging in there and saw the game out 2-1 winners.

A good 3 points on our travels with our 2nd away win in 4 days and 4th win from 5 in the league as we coninue to build and find our feet.

Highlights of the day included Salter getting on the Marley juice, Rymer being the most easily persuaded bloke ever saying 'i aint drinking i wanna stay fit' and then at the end of the game downing a massive bottle of cider and saying 'lets get smashed', Websters sense of direction as Tash battled to stay with us between Brifghtlingsea and Downham hahaha, Beardo saying 'what a record' to right said fred im too sexy, Beeson having a bottle opener for a belt and Wesbter buying 5 spoons for 61p from tescos to tuck into 50 litres of Ice cream.

See photos o front page of the day, other highlights which cant be mentioned are Toms car battery running flat hahahahahahahahahahahaha.
