Brightlingsea Regent lost out to Maldon & Tiptree 2-1 for the second time this season.
Manager James Webster made wholesale changes to the line up with not one player starting the game who started in Saturdays cup win over Great Wakering.
The Regent youngsters got off to a good start in the game and deservedly managed to take the lead after just 15 minutes. When a ball out of defence by Adam Reakes was chased down by Phil Kelly, for the Maldon & Tiptree defender to head past his own goalkeeper allowing Kelly to latch onto it and slot Regent in front. 1-0
Maldon & Tiptree didn't have to wait long for the equalizer when in the 19th minute, a smart turn down Regent's right hand side by Tarryn Allarakhia, lead to the ball spilling out to Maldon & Tiptree's Left Back Joe Claridge, who hit a wonderful curling shot past Jay Clewley in goal for Regent. 1-1
After a large penalty shout from Regent when Charlie Lindoe was brought down the the six yard box which was waved away, Regent found themselves behind. On the stroke of Half Time, a through ball from Maldon & Tiptree's Tarryn Allarakhia got striker Darren Mills in behind to slot past Clewley and make it 1-2.
The second half saw some good chance for Regent to level, Mekhi McKenzie had an effort sail over the bar on the hour mark and a good save from Maldon & Tiptree's goalkeeper James Behan, denied Phil Kelly his second of the game with a header from a Ross Brazitis cross late into the game.
