Regent got back to winning ways with a Ricky Griggs brace that sees us break the 70 point barrier.

Brightlingsea travelled to Team Bury for their penultimate League game. Webster was still without Scott Page (injury) and Jake Gould (holiday) but he did have Sam Holman back in the starting line up and Darryl Wallis returning to the squad. The pitch was quite bare and hard but despite this Regent played some very good football although Team Bury had a great chance after less than a minute of the game gone but the striker hit high and handsome. Regent created 2 chances from corners with Kevin Hughes going close on both occasions but the keeper did well to save. The best chance in the half didn't come until the 35th minute despite Regent playing and largely controlling the game. Good movement from Terry Rymer saw him through on goal but the home keeper did well to rush out and force Terry to take his shot early which was narrowly wide. Keiron Baker then went on a mazy, juggling the ball over the defender on the byline before a few kick ups later and his shot was high from a tight angle. Team Bury had another chance which the striker created himself but again was high and wide. HT 0-0
Regent increased their tempo and were rewarded after 15 minutes in a game where they were beginning to control. Great play through midfield saw Warren who was getting forward at every opportunity find Ricky Griggs, he passed to Liam Whittaker who's deft back heel found the run of Ricky Griggs who smashed his left foot shot into the top bins for 0-1. Regent were playing some good football and went close on several occasions with Terry Rymer twice seeing his shot saved. Liam Whittaker then went close when he controlled and took superbly into his path a through ball, it was a big surprise that he shot over. After 75 minutes Regent got a deserved 2nd goal when Ricky Griggs capped off a good display by pressing a mistake from the home full back, having won the ball he ran from the halfway line before holding off the defender and passing into the bottom corner for 0-2. Warren Joseph tried to get his first ever goal for Regent after more good build up play but his little legs were tired and his shot was like him, weak! FT 0-2
A good team display that was the perfect reaction to our first league defeat in 6 months which saw us break the 70 point barrier.
