Despite Webster's bad hat we gain 3 more points with a solid away win.

On Saturday we travelled to Long Melford hoping to continue our run and climb further up the table. Long Melford had done well to get the game on with so many games being off in the Thurlow Nunn League. Webster had the same squad as the Boxing Day victory except Wallis and Pagey. Scott Page was celebrating his recent engagement by pebble dashing his toilet! Three changes were made to the starting line up with Charlie Thompson and Phil Kelly coming in and Julian Simon-Parson making his first start since signing. We started the game well and it was clear from the off that the home side would have to contain us and play on the break. They did this well along with some help from some generous misses, most notably by the normally lethal Jake Holman. After 36 minutes though we took a deserved lead when a superb kick from Beeson who had got himself up for the game by watching Norman Wisdom videos!! He found Ricky Griggs who held off the defender before turning and firing past the keeper off the post to make it 0-1. After 41 minutes we increased our lead when brilliant defensive work from Phil Kelly saw him win the ball back on the right side of our final third before playing to Jake Gould, his run found Jamie Clark whose pass found Phil Kelly who controlled and fired past the keeper to make it 0-2. The only sour note of the half was Webster's appalling hat which goes on the,why would you buy this category along with his North Face shi**ers. HT0-2
The second hand carried on in the same vain although our movement and intensity was much better and after 61 minutes we added a third with the goal off the game. The keeper punched to what he thought was safety but Ricky Griggs collected from 25 yards and returned it back in to the top bins to make it 0-3. After 66 minutes good intricate play through midfield by Sam Holman and Jamie Clark found Julian Simon-Parson who passed to Phil Kelly, he rounded the keeper to pass in to the unguarded net and make it 0-4. All three substitutions were after the goal and after 75 minutes Charlie Thompson added a fifth. Kevin Hughes challenged with the keeper and the loose ball was stabbed home by Charlie to make it 0-5. The home side continued to work hard without much reward but never gave up and with injury time being played we made it 0-6. Warren played an inch perfect cross from the right wing and Liam Whittaker planted his header in the bottom corner despite the keepers best efforts. FT 0-6
Another solid performance and win which sees us move in to 4th position in the table. Along with Webster's hat and the Norman Wisdom motivational video the funniest comment of the day was from the bitter fan who absolutely ruined Warren Joseph by shouting you didn't even used to get in to Cornard reserves, skipper.. Harsh but fair.
