Vice-Captain Josh Gould, Assistant Manager Pip Boyland and Jake Clowsley become the latest to commit.

Regent Boss has confirmed three more of last season’s squad have signed and committed to the new season.

“I think it’s important we have the nucleus of the squad which we almost have now with eight having signed from last season and hopefully at least two more to come in the next few days” said Regent Boss Tom Rothery.

“I didn’t want to lose the two that we have so far but obviously you can’t control that and the new signings to date are really positive.

Josh signing is important for us, he’s one of our most experienced players now and as vice skipper is an important member in the changing room too.

I felt after Christmas Josh was excellent he really adapted to the new level and he brings physicality that as a team we sometimes require, he’s a professional lad so I know having now had that first season at this level he will have taken a lot on board and will continue to grow with the team.

Jake came back towards the end of the season and did exactly what I signed him for really, he was another more experienced player that we needed at the time even though he’s only 24 Jake has played senior football for a number of years now and understands what’s required on and off the pitch, he’s a very tenacious player and has things that we have asked him to improve on for next season and I know with Jake he wants to always improve his game which is great for me and the club.

Lastly Pip Boyland who had already committed to being Assistant Manager next season has signed as a player also.

“I sat down with Pip and Terry as soon as the season had finished to get things organised for the new season and wanted Pip to stay as Assistant, he was excellent last season in that role and I felt we worked together really well.

He had his cruciate injury operated on in April so once that has recovered he is looking to come back and play. From the outside when playing against Pip I’ve seen he’s a great leader on the pitch, he’s combative, obviously a good player and a winner, he will certainly add something to us when back fit and playing” said Regent’s Tom Rothery.
