Millwall Football Club is pleased to announce that teenager Rob Harvey has arrived at The Den from Bostik Premier Division outfit Brightlingsea Regent for an undisclosed fee.
The 18-year-old winger had been in contact with the club since a period training with the Lions’ Under-23 setup last season, and has been snapped up following a trial period.
Harvey will initially become a part of Kevin Nugent’s U23s at the club following his signing, and the youngster has spoken of his joy to get the deal over the line.
“I’m very pleased with [the move],” Harvey said.
“It came about last season when I was playing in the first-team at Brightlingsea, and I came back in pre-season.
“I’ve always played in non-league so it’s nice to get a break playing professionally.”
Comfortable on either flank and described as a clever, hard-working attacking player with an eye for goal, Harvey makes the move to South-East London after starting out with local Essex club West Bergholt and since moving on to Brightlingsea.
His blistering form in Regent’s U18 side early last season propelled him into the first-team, where he attracted attention from several EFL clubs before deciding to commit his future to Millwall.
