George Keys has left Brightlingsea Regent and joined Leiston.

George joined Regent last season on a work experience loan from Colchester United and went on to play over 20 games winning young player of the year at the awards evening at the end of the season.

After being released by Colchester United George signed for Regent in the summer on a non contract basis.

Tom Rothery had this to say on George’s departure “ George was excellent for us last season and deservedly won his award and I felt he really matured as the season went on.

This season it’s been a bit tougher for George and the return of Ricky Griggs has also limited George’s playing time so hopefully this move will be a good one for him and he’s moving to a good club and I hope he does really well. He’s a very professional young man and I’m sure he will do well”.

Thanks to George for his time in a Regent shirt.
